Robotics is an excellent option for campers who have taken programming and who have an interest in engineering and mechanics. Junior and Senior campers both use LEGO Mindstorms NXT kits, and have a choice between using a graphical language developed by LEGO or a C based language developed at Carnegie Mellon.
Campers work in groups, creating robots which climb walls, play socccer, navigate mazes—or almost anything else they can think of. Bluetooth capabilities allow extremely precise remote control. Their projects may use light, touch, or range-finding sensors.
At the end of each session, campers take home a video of their robots in action.
