• All TIC jobs require energy, creativity, patience, and a real interest in children and adolescents. Experience in teaching/coaching is an asset.
• TIC runs three DAY CAMPS in the Washington DC metro area with NO RESIDENT FACILITIES.
• Preference is given to local residents, but out-of-towners who can find their own housing may apply.
• International staff are hired only through agencies (such as BUNACAMP, CAMP COUNSELORS USA,or CAMP AMERICA) which provide pre-screening, appropriate visas, travel arrangements and health insurance.
• Preference is given to applicants 18 years of age or older, but we make occasional exceptions for highly qualified high school seniors or graduates, especially if they have been through our Counselor-in-Training program.
• NEW COUNSELORS AT TIC MAY NOT WORK IN BOTH COMPUTERS AND SPORTS. It is difficult enough to learn to do one job well, without trying to do two jobs. Returning counselors who are qualified in both areas may get to "travel" between computers and sports with either the juniors or the seniors.
• DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU ARE AVAILABLE THE WHOLE SUMMER, INCLUDING STAFF TRAINING DAYS, 6/14 through 8/13 (DC) or 6/21 through 8/20 (MD/VA).

After you have filled out the application online, PRINT A COPY first. Then click "submit by email." In the past, probably because of software or browser incompatibility, some applications have gone astray. So, if TIC does NOT acknowledge receipt within one week, then mail a copy to: TIC SUMMER CAMP, 4620 Dittmar Road, Arlington, VA 22207-4311. (Don't forget to sign and date it.)

(2) You need three STAFF REFERENCE FORMS. You may print out three copies to give to your recommenders to fill out by hand (and we suggest you give them a stamped envelope addressed to TIC as a courtesy)

so that they can fill out the forms online. In either case the reference form must be printed and sent by MAIL. They will receive an emailed acknowledgement of receipt by TIC within a week.

Your application will not be complete until ALL THREE references are received.
